Good morning,
This week, European lawmakers focused on making environmental rules simpler while pushing big investments into clean technology. From longer deadlines to massive funding for green projects, EU policy is adjusting to help businesses adapt. Let's look at what changed and what it means for you.
Giving businesses more room to breathe
EU leaders voted to make compliance easier for several key industries. First, MEPs supported a three-year delay on EU methane rules for energy importers to help ease pressure on global energy markets. In addition, the Parliament approved the Omnibus VI simplification package, which relaxes labeling requirements and deadlines for chemical, cosmetic, and fertilizer products.
Investing in supply chains and clean industry
At the same time, the EU is building stronger markets for green transition tech. Lawmakers reached an agreement to strengthen the ETS Market Stability Reserve so carbon prices remain predictable. Parliament also adopted amendments to the Critical Raw Materials Act to secure strategic supply chains for large companies. Finally, the EU announced €3.4 billion for net-zero projects to help European factories cut emissions and stay competitive.

Good morning,
This week the EU is focusing on cutting red tape and making business rules simpler across Europe. From delayed methane checks to extended tax rules, leaders want to ease the pressure on companies. Here is what you need to know this week.
Easing the pressure
To help energy companies deal with high prices, the EU wants to give fossil fuel importers more time. The proposed delay on methane rules pushes back reporting duties by one year. At the same time, tax rules are staying steady as the EU proposes an extension of anti-VAT fraud tools through June 2030.
Boosting the single market
EU leaders are also working to make doing business across borders much smoother. Top officials reaffirmed their commitment to the One Europe One Market roadmap to remove market barriers by 2027. Meanwhile, European Council President António Costa outlined priorities for cheaper energy and faster permits to help speed up clean energy projects.

Good morning,
This week, European regulators are pushing forward with strict new rules to protect workers and clean up industrial supply chains. From toxic chemical limits to workplace mental health, businesses need to prepare for higher standards across the board. Here is what you need to know about the latest changes.
Protecting workers
The European Parliament wants to make workplaces safer and less stressful. Lawmakers are calling for new rules on workplace mental health to help prevent burnout and stress. At the same time, they approved stricter chemical exposure limits to shield workers from dangerous substances in industrial sectors like battery and metal production. Environmental safety is also in the spotlight, as the European Chemicals Agency recommended a highly hazardous classification for TFA chemicals, which are often used in manufacturing.
Looking ahead
On the financial side, changes are coming to how companies operate and pay taxes. Parliament is currently debating the next EU long-term budget and polluter taxes, which could mean higher costs for high-emission industries. Meanwhile, official talks have started to launch digital EU business wallets and update the SFDR, aiming to simplify identity checks and green finance reporting.
